FC Monmouth’s playoff push continues as it travels to face Hershey FC, marking the club’s second game in five days. FC Monmouth and Torch FC both have nine points and are tied for fifth in the Keystone Conference, one point behind Electric City Shock SC for the fourth and final playoff spot. Hershey FC will look for its first win of the season, as it currently has a record of 0-8-0. Their most recent game came on June 20, as they fell 2-0 to Torch FC.

LAST TIME OUT

In the opener of their season-ending three-game road swing, FC Monmouth fell 2-0 to West Chester United SC on June 26. FC Monmouth began the game with a solid scoring chance in the first minute, and after that both teams traded streaks of four-consecutive shots. West Chester scored in the 38th minute, giving them a 1-0 halftime advantage. The visitors came out of the break strong, logging three of the first four shots. As both defenses stood strong, FC Monmouth began to push numbers forward as the game approached the 90th minute. That created some chances after the 90th minute, but West Chester doubled their lead as time was winding down, handing FC Monmouth its third loss of the season.

ABOUT HERSHEY FC

Founded in 2012, the 2021 season marks the eighth season in the National Premier Soccer League for Hershey FC. The club has finished as high as fourth in the Keystone Conference over its seven seasons, winning as many as five games (2013). Most recently, they went 1-5-4 during the 2019 season.

FC Monmouth leads the all-time series 2-0-0, including a 3-1 victory in the most recent meeting on June 8, 2019.
