Game Notes

Tickets

After back-to-back games in two different states, FC Monmouth will face Torch FC in the first of two-straight games at home. FC Monmouth secured points in each of the two games away from Count Basie Park, with the most recent being a 2-1 victory in a weather-shortened game at First State FC. Torch FC won the only game that they played in 2021, a 2-1 victory over Electric City Shock SC on May 23.

LAST TIME OUT

In a game that featured two delays due to weather, FC Monmouth was able to secure three points against First State FC Wednesday night. After a 30 minute delay to begin the game, FC Monmouth saw some big first half saves from goalkeeper Matt Perrella to keep the game scoreless going into the half. First State FC opened the second half with a goal, but a strike from forward Walter Calderon tied the game in the 51st minute. A few minutes later, midfielder Colin Lankau chipped the ball into the net from 20 yards out to give the visitors the lead. In the 61st minute, the game was paused due to weather, which did not clear after nearly a two hour delay.

ABOUT TORCH FC

FC Monmouth leads the all-time series 2-0-0, including a 3-1 victory at home during the 2019 season.

NOTES AND NUMBERS

FC Monmouth has now collected points in each of its last two games. They have also scored at least once in each after being shut out by FC Motown in the season opener.

The club holds an all-time record of 7-2-2 against Pennsylvania opponents. The game against Torch FC marks the second of four games against Pennsylvania clubs and the only one to take place at home.
