Hospital for Special Surgery Named Official Hospital of FC Monmouth

RED BANK, NJ - FC Monmouth has today announced that Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) will be the team’s official hospital for the 2019 season.

The partnership allows FC Monmouth to benefit from one of the global leaders in sports medicine. HSS, the nation’s top-ranked hospital for orthopedics for the past nine consecutive years according to U.S. News & World Report, will deliver access to high quality preventative, surgical, rehabilitative and performance services to our athletes in addition to their specialties in orthopedic surgery and the treatment of rheumatologic conditions.

“FC Monmouth couldn't be happier to partner with one of the global leaders in sports medicine,” said FC Monmouth General Manager Jacco de Bruijn. “The intensity of the practices and NPSL games over a two month period during the summer is high. We want to ensure our players have the best care and compete at the top of their game, and we have experienced first hand that HSS can provide this as our official hospital partner.”

With this partnership, FC Monmouth has officially named Dr. Danyal Nawabi, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, as the Head Team Physician and Dr. Brett Toresdahl as Primary Care Sports Medicine Consultant.

“I’ve had the great experience of being involved with the English Premier League and Major League Soccer, and have a passion for caring for athletes whether at the amateur or elite level,” Dr. Nawabi said. “It is my privilege to oversee player care for FC Monmouth and to help keep the team safe on and off the field and performing at their very best.”
