FC Monmouth Announces Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) as Club’s New Front-of-Shirt Sponsor
Red Bank, NJ, May 6, 2024 – FC Monmouth and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), the world’s
leading academic medical center for musculoskeletal health, today announced a new partnership that
will make HSS the official jersey sponsor of the club.
Beginning in the 2024 season, HSS, which is ranked No. 1 in orthopedics nationally by U.S. News & World
Report (2023-2024) and globally by Newsweek for the fourth consecutive year in 2023, will have its logo
on the front of both home and away kits for FC Monmouth throughout the duration of the multi-year
deal. The new front-of-shirt sponsorship deal will complement the club’s existing partnership with HSS
that includes signage throughout FC Monmouth’s home grounds at Count Basie Park.
“This has been a fantastic partnership for over five years now, and HSS is thrilled to have the
opportunity of being the official front-of-shirt sponsor for FC Monmouth,” said Dr. Danyal Nawabi, FC
Monmouth Head Team Physician and sports medicine surgeon at HSS. “We will continue to provide
world-class injury prevention and recovery support to all the club’s athletes, and we look forward to
continuing to connect with the local Monmouth community.”
HSS is the premier provider in musculoskeletal care in the world. Athletes from around the globe come
to us for treatment,” said Dr. Stavros Memtsoudis, Chief of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain
Management at HSS and co-owner of FC Monmouth. “Being part of such an amazing team is inspiring
and truly rewarding. This relationship is hugely important to me personally as it combines my love for
soccer, community and my profession. Having a brand like HSS support FC Monmouth inspires us to do
more and do it better.”
Now as the official kit sponsor of the club, HSS is continuing its role as a trusted resource and leader in
athlete safety and sports rehabilitation, as well as further integrating the hospital within the local
Monmouth community. On June 22, 2024, FC Monmouth will host a health and wellness night
presented by HSS during the club’s match against Atlantic City FC.
“HSS has supported our mission of growing local soccer in Monmouth County over the past two years
and we’re delighted to expand upon this partnership,” said James Davis, FC Monmouth General
Manager. “HSS’ goals of promoting health and wellness amongst athletes young and old is essential
work in our country and we hope that this extended partnership can help Monmouth County further
utilize the amazing resources that they provide.”
In 2019, HSS was named the official hospital of FC Monmouth, delivering access to high quality
preventative, surgical, rehabilitative and performance services to all FC Monmouth athletes. Dr. Nawabi
will remain as the Head Team Physician. Just two years prior, the club was founded by its current
owners Dr. Memtsoudis and Dr. Federico Girardi, spine surgeon at HSS.
This landmark deal marks another marque soccer partnership for HSS, which is also the official hospital
of the New York Red Bulls and US Youth Soccer.
