A.F.C Monmouth County Joins FC Monmouth As An Official Affiliate Club
9 October 2024
A.F.C Monmouth County has joined FC Monmouth as an official affiliate club.
Officially launched in August, A.F.C Monmouth County were started by a group of Monmouth County based police officers with aspirations to continue to develop their communities through soccer. Pioneered by Monmouth County Sheriffs officer Brandon Pilecki, the group hopes to continue building upon their platform to host special events to raise money for different charities.
“The idea began back in June. We were playing pick up soccer at Atchison Fields in Tinton Falls when we realized that our members have a strong desire to help people. We figure that individually we have a plethora of resources that can be used to make this come to fruition. The team has since evolved into not just law enforcement but family and friends as well “ Pilecki says.
The club is aiming to host charity sporting events throughout the year to begin helping those in need. Their inaugural event as a club is a Veterans Day charity game that will be raising funds for Bridging The Gap Veterans Fund. A non profit based out of Monmouth County that aims in helping veterans transition into the work world. The event will be taking place on November 2nd at The Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls at 10AM. A $5 admission donation is requested for attendees that will go directly to Bridging The Gap For Veterans.
Beyond soccer, the club has large aspirations to help raise funds for our veterans in need.
“We also plan on expanding in the future to offer scholarships to youth for training camps/education. We plan on holding donation events such as food canning, youth equipment and food drives to those in need. We have currently applied for our 501(c)(3) status and are awaiting finalization from the state” Says Pilecki.
Additionally Pilecki plans on offering volunteer services for those in need through A.F.C Monmouth County’s members.
He went on to say that “beyond November 2nd, we plan on offering volunteer services to any soccer/law enforcement/veterans organizations out there that are in need. We will be holding Winter and Spring donation events and will be planning another major event for the Spring. At this time we are also planning to sell themed merchandise in order to raise money for different associations. Hey, even if you see one of us and you need us to take a garbage can out to the street for you, we will do it. Nothing regarding helping people is too small and we are happy to do it.”
FC Monmouth is thrilled to share that the club will be on site for the November 2nd charity match, and encourage all that are able to join as well. There will be various vendors, giveaway items, and gear available for soccer attendees from across the county,
“In my early conversations with Brandon it was apparent that A.F.C Monmouth County is on the right track to do some great things for the sport and our community in the near future. It is always amazing to see other Monmouth County locals looking to grow our sport and support incredible causes. We’re very grateful to be able to support in any way that we can as a club and hope to see others in our community join as well.” James Davis, FC Monmouth general manager stated.
Pilecki along with a majority of the 21 others that will be suiting up on November 2nd are either Monmouth County locals or have Monmouth County roots, with the common goal of giving back to the county that we all love.
“From growing up playing Howell United Soccer as a kid, it was a privilege at a young age to experience the soccer culture that Monmouth County has to offer. I believe that soccer is not only just a game but a movement which can bring people together. Take 22 random people on a field who don’t know each other and by the end of the game you are all shaking hands and having a great time. Mostly likely, you made a new friend or two along the way. That right there is what soccer is all about and what has allowed A.F.C Monmouth County to become what it is and what will continue to grow” Pilecki shared.
To keep up with all things Monmouth County follow @wearemonmouth and @monmouth_county_afc to keep up to date with the November 2nd charity game as well as any other events that will be happening in the future.
