FC Monmouth Travels to Atlantic City FC for Final Game of Regular Season

FC Monmouth will conclude its 10-game regular season schedule Wednesday night as it travels to face Atlantic City FC. Both teams will be in the 2021 Keystone Conference Playoffs, with the final seeding and semifinal pairings to be determined. FC Monmouth is coming off a five-goal performance against Hershey FC, while Atlantic City has won back-to-back games. They most recently defeated Torch FC 3-0 on July 3.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind four goals from forward Walter Calderon, FC Monmouth defeated Hershey FC 5-3 on June 30 in what was the first-ever indoor game in club history. FC Monmouth scored four goals in the opening 17 minutes, and Hershey FC responded with two of their own before the halftime break. The home side continued their comeback into the second half as they pulled within one in the 81st minute. Calderon scored two minutes later, however, giving FC Monmouth a two-goal advantage that they did not relinquish. The victory was the third of the season for FC Monmouth, and it put them in position to clinch their second playoff berth in three seasons.
ABOUT ATLANTIC CITY FC
Founded in 2017, Atlantic City FC is in its third season of play in the NPSL. They finished sixth in the table during the 2018 season, and quickly made the climb to the top of the Keystone Conference in 2019. They went 7-2-1, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in their history while having one of the highest-scoring teams in the conference. They fell 2-1 to Philadelphia Lone Star FC in the Keystone Conference Semifinals.
The all-time series is currently tied 2-2-1, with the most recent meeting being a 1-1 draw on June 18 at Count Basie Park.
