Following its first-ever playoff victory Friday night against West Chester United SC, FC Monmouth travels to face FC Motown in the 2021 Keystone Conference Final. Both clubs won their semifinal matches on the road, marking the second consecutive season in which both top seeds lost in the first round. FC Motown defeated Atlantic City FC, 3-2, after falling behind 1-0 early on Friday night. The meeting will be the sixth all-time between the two clubs and the third this season. FC Monmouth will look for its first-ever victory against FC Motown.

Behind three goals from forward Walter Calderon, FC Monmouth defeated West Chester United SC, 3-1, on Friday, July 16. After a scoreless first half, FC Monmouth took the lead in the 61st minute as Calderon found the back of the net after the ball went off the hands of the West Chester goalkeeper. Minutes later, midfielder Chase Covello played a ball into the box off a set piece, where defender Daniel Pizzimenti flicked it to the feet of Calderon at the back post. He scored right after to double the FC Monmouth lead. He made the lead 3-0 in stoppage time off a feed from midfielder Giuseppe Barone, and West Chester converted a penalty kick in the final moments to make the final score 3-1.
ABOUT FC MOTOWN
Founded in 2012, FC Motown has experienced a lot of success across numerous competitions. They have advanced past the Keystone Conference Playoffs in each of the first two seasons of FC Monmouth’s existence, and that streak dates back farther than that. In 2018, they made it all the way to the NPSL National Final, where they fell 3-1 to Miami FC 2. They also field teams in USL League Two and the Garden State Soccer League.
FC Motown leads the all-time series 5-0-0, including a win over FC Monmouth in the Keystone Conference Semifinals in 2018.

Covello will move into sole possession of second place in club history for games played with an appearance on Sunday.
FC Motown has appeared in the Keystone Conference every season since the game was introduced in 2017.
The winner of the game will advance to the East Region Semifinals, which begin on Friday, July 23.
