FC Monmouth will play its final home game of the regular season as it hosts in-state rival Atlantic City FC on June 18. In what will be the first-ever Friday night FC Monmouth game, the club will look to begin its push for a playoff berth against one of the top teams in the Keystone Conference. Atlantic City FC enters with 16 points, with their most recent game being a 4-1 victory over First State FC on June 11. The game will also be a clash between two of the highest-scoring teams in the conference, as both have scored 19 or more goals this season.

LAST TIME OUT

FC Monmouth fell to FC Motown 2-1 on June 12, ending the club’s four-game point streak. In a first half with only five total shots, FC Monmouth was able to take the lead on a penalty kick from forward Walter Calderon. In the second half, FC Monmouth had a chance to double its lead as a shot from forward Josh Hesson went through the legs of the FC Motown goalkeeper, but was narrowly kept out of the net. FC Motown began to apply some offensive pressure, putting together a streak of 11-straight shots. After tying the game on a penalty kick of their own, FC Motown scored the go-ahead and what turned out to be the game-winning goal as the game approached the 90th minute.

ABOUT ATLANTIC CITY FC

Founded in 2017, Atlantic City FC is in its third season of play in the NPSL. They finished sixth in the table during the 2018 season, and quickly made the climb to the top of the Keystone Conference in 2019. They went 7-2-1, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in their history while having one of the highest-scoring teams in the conference. They fell 2-1 to Philadelphia Lone Star FC in the Keystone Conference Semifinals.

The all-time series is currently tied 2-2-0, with Atlantic City FC winning the most recent meeting 4-2 on June 26, 2019.
