The second half of the season begins this Saturday as FC Monmouth will face the first of two consecutive in-state rivals. Following their season-opening loss to FC Motown, FC Monmouth has recorded at least a point in every game since. They are one game away from tying the all-time record for most consecutive games with at least one point. FC Motown has not lost a game this season, a streak dating back to July of 2019. Most recently, they defeated Atlantic City FC 2-1 on the road. The meeting between FC Monmouth and FC Motown will be the fifth all-time and the first at Drew University since the 2018 Keystone Conference Playoffs.

LAST TIME OUT

FC Monmouth erased a four-goal halftime deficit to draw First State FC 4-4 on June 5. Forward Josh Hesson opened the scoring for FC Monmouth in the 49th minute off a feed from midfielder Colin Lankau. Later on, Lankau scored his second of the season from over 20 yards out to make the First State FC lead 4-2. After the game passed the 90th minute, FC Monmouth continued to climb back into the game. Following a throw-in that went off the hands of the First State FC goalkeeper and then the crossbar, midfielder Chase Covello headed it in to make the score 4-3. In the waning moments of the game, forward Alexander Navarrete drew a foul in the box to set up a penalty kick. In the 97th minute, defender Zachary Pereira converted it and scored to complete the comeback. A few moments later, the final whistle blew with the score 4-4.
