RED BANK, NJ – FC Monmouth announced five returning players from its 2019 roster as part of the unveiling of the 2020 team. Defender Zach Pereira and midfielder Dylan Fogerty will return for their third-straight season, while midfielder Bryant Knibbs, defender Andrew Venezia, and goalkeeper Trevor Zabilowicz will return for their second-straight season.

Pereira, the FC Monmouth captain, is a member of the inaugural 2018 team that went 6-3-1 and qualified for the Keystone Conference Playoffs. He also played an integral role in last season’s team that reached the top of the Keystone Conference for the first time. Pereira is the current FC Monmouth all-time leader in minutes played (1507) and games started (19), and sits in a tie for second in assists (2).

Fogerty, another member of the inaugural 2018 team, is the all-time leader in games played (20). Featured mainly as a substitute in his first season, he saw an increased role in 2019. Fogerty started six of the final seven games of the campaign, scoring his first career goal on June 8 at Hershey FC.

Knibbs will return to the team as a player/coach, after a 2019 season in which he started all nine games that he played in, finishing fourth on the team in minutes played (756). Knibbs currently sits in a tie for second all-time in goals (4). He also is one of two players in team history to score a goal in four consecutive games (June 12 – June 26).

Venezia finished fifth on the team in minutes for the 2019 season. He played in nine of the team’s ten games, starting the final eight. During that stretch of starts, Venezia played the full 90 minutes in six of those eight games. He also finished second among defenders in shots with six.

Zabilowicz played in five games last season and recorded six saves. After making his debut as a substitute on May 22, he made three consecutive starts from June 8 to June 15. FC Monmouth went 3-0-0 during that span, which put him second all-time in wins for a goalkeeper in team history. His final appearance came as a substitute on June 29.

The 2020 FC Monmouth roster will continue to be announced over the coming weeks on the team’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
