FC Monmouth will travel to Lansdale, Pennsylvania this afternoon to take on BuxMont Torch FC in their second out of state trip this season. Monmouth enters tonight’s match coming off of a 2-1 home win versus Electric City Shock SC on Wednesday night.

BuxMont Torch FC is still looking for their first win of the season after being defeated by New Jersey Copa FC 8-1 last Saturday. They will come into today’s match having had a full week of rest in between play.

Torch FC is currently positioned at the bottom of the NPSL’s Keystone Conference with a record of 0-6-0 and have lost by six goals or more in four of those matches.

Team News

Midfielder and captain John Antunes remains sidelined with a hamstring injury that was sustained versus Hershey FC on June 2nd.

Forward Julian Valerio and defenders Zachary Pereira, Ryan Cheslock, and Kevin Kappock are all back in the squad and are available for selection.

About BuxMont Torch FC

Via their official website, “The BuxMont Torch is a ministry that was established during the summer of 2009 which utilizes sport as a means to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to disciple and train sports ministers. We are located in Upper Bucks-Montgomery-Lehigh Counties, PA.”

Their mission statement is as follows: “To use the platform of sport in a way that reflects the calling of God to be holy, the mission of Jesus to save the lost, and the filling of the Holy Spirit to accomplish God’s will.”

Though founded in 2009, Torch FC did not play its first season in the NPSL until 2011, where they finished 7th in the Keystone Conference. Since then, their highest ever conference finish was in 2015 when they came in 3rd place.

Last season, the club finished 4th with a record of 4-4-2.
